Perfect for connecting the 12 volt to 12 charge control from the bus electrical system to the house batteries to charge them when the engine is running.
This is my first experience with solar. I started with Rich’s 4 panel 800 watt kit and later expanded with two more panels (1200 watts) and added more batteries. Now, I plan to add two more panels (with a second controller). Everything works perfectly so I’m able to use the additional power in more applications. I currently have an older full size refrigerator/freezer and a separate chest freezer on full-time solar, plus use it for occasional power tools, shop vac, etc. With additional panels I can run my septic pump and furnace fan too. I’m not in a sunny state either. I live in WA state where the summers are gorgeous with lots of sun and winters are pretty cloudy/rainy. Even on gray winter days my panels do surprisingly well. Just received notice that our electric rates will be going up over 12% in January. I’d rather spend my money on more panels. No, my system is not tied into the grid.
